Contributing Data
The ELITE Portal is an open access repository generated by multiple collaborative programs focused on advancing exceptional longevity research. The ELITE Portal is maintained by the NIH National Institute on Aging (NIA)-funded Exceptional Longevity Data Management and Coordination Center (EL DMCC), led by Sage Bionetworks. While the ELITE Portal is accessible to everyone, specific resource storage, curation, and dissemination support are available for several NIH/NIA Exceptional Longevity projects and to Community Data Contribution Program (CDCP) participants. If you are interested in sharing resources and/or data on the ELITE Portal, please review the requirements and steps below to request assistance from the EL DMCC. Thank you for participating in open science and contributing to the advancement of cancer research.
How to contribute data
Sharing data to the ELITE Portal involves the following actions, to be completed in order:
Prepare for Data Submission: This involves assembling the necessary data, metadata, and supporting information that we will ask you submit in the subsequent steps for contributing data.
Become Synapse Certified: The EL DMCC will create a Team on Synapse for you and add you and other team members to the appropriate project(s). Once your Team is created, it will appear in your Synapse profile here.
Upload your data: The EL DMCC will designate a project and staging (private) folders in Synapse to house your data. Once these are established, you are ready to upload your project’s data.
Annotate your data: This involves labeling your files with metadata so users can easily find and filter for the data they need when exploring data on the portal.
Release data: Once your data are successfully uploaded and annotated, it will go through several checks to prepare for public release. Releases happen at the end of every month.
